Lookin' Out My Back Door

First view through the now infamous bi-fold doors!....and all I can see is Simon and Matt, it's a beautiful sight. I can't believe I said that but there you go! 😉

New light through old windows

Today's the day (5.5 months late because of a cowboy 🤠) that we finally remove the boarding to fit the big feature.....our curved bi-fold doors!

Unlike 🤠 Barry Davies (Double D Installations Ltd / The Architectural Glazing Company London Ltd), who ripped us off, our new supplier (IDSystems) turned up on time, with all the doors and materials! Funny how the 'Barry' experience makes that sound impressive. 😉

IDSystems are here for three days, pictures will updated once they've finished!  🤞

Back Door Man

Not the progress we wanted but progress none the less! 👍

Since we have a front door now, I moved the temporary "skip dived" one to the back for Patch (the dog).

Green (?) Door

Okay,so it's not a green door but it is the front door we ordered (for the second time)

   

Off the Wall

  

The patio is finished!....the weather really slowed that up. Now the rendering of the walls can start.

Islands in the stream

We looked at all sorts of worktop and couldn't settle on any....we wanted chunky because the island size would make it look thin.

We went with solid Oak in the end, ties up with the address of course, RTA Joinery came up trumps again!

Moving

Valentines dinner in the new house, classy as ever!
We did only move in last night though....be fair! 💏

Stairway to Heaven

Finally we move from building site to house. No more ladders!

Walk Among Stones

Patio area is being laid in the same type of stone as inside.

Hopefully to look like one continuous space once it's all done!

Silver Travertine stone flooring going down despite not having doors.

We've got to push in or lose even more money!

Upstairs at Eric's (the Bennett's)

All but the grouting is finished upstairs! Really pleased with the finish, it's as good as we hoped for and then some!

 

Drive

The drive was done while we watched.....less than 30 minutes!

No surprise really, these guys built our house in 6 months when everyone else said 9-10.

Downstairs decorating is nearly done. Just can't finish off because of the missing doors and skylight.

We really could have been done by Christmas if it wasn't for Double D installation. Their last chance is In 2 days, they've promised to fit the skylight and garage side door.

Like a scene from Alien....bathrooms are wrapped for painting....just one unit to cover.

Electric main is connected....we have power!

Timber

What's missing?....err...major gap in the plan with the doors! Very nice Pagoda look currently!

  

Cedar cladding going on, starting to look fantastic!

Inside first coat, we're getting paint upstairs.

Steamy Windows

  

Delays and frustration but finally we have some windows! Upstairs is now water tight!

Tennessee (Tunbridge Wells) Stud

  

Boarding out upstairs now. Windows needed to keep the pace up tho'!

Wires

  

Powering up downstairs now. Cat6, TV, BT, special cable, can do this, can't do that......We can't believe the amount of detail you have to think about!

Solid as a rock

  

Floor screed is poured and all pipe work is covered. Here's hoping everything is in the right place!

Heat it up!

Yep....ground floor heating loops are down and will be covered with screed by close of play today.

Upstairs is already in!

Yep...Emma the reptile like human will love it, I am sure her dog will too.
