Under The Boardwalk

Not much fun, certainly no sun, but these builders keep going through the rain. So it's as wet as being down by the sea.

It really is taking shape now though. Big steel ring beam outlines the upstairs and the back curved windows will be amazing.

Steal Away

Some steels are in and pointing skywards.

Other monster steels are lying around waiting for walls to sit on.

Silver dream machine

Not quite, all you 'Essex' fans, it's the garage pit.
Ready for my next bucket list project, a car.

Let's hope there's budget left. Please Mrs B!  :-)

Here comes the rain again.....

.....fortunately the drainage is all in with a little finishing off to do.

     Pipes, pumps, action!

Going Underground

Some of the footings are 2.5 metres deep.
Given we've already dug down half a metre or more that's pushing 4 metres underground!

The guys from Cosgrove even needed to double up the ladder to get out of one corner!

Ground Level

Cosgrove have reached the level to put the floors on.

It looks very deep but I'm assure that by the time the floors go in it won't feel so low.

BTW, song trivia could have gone for Happy Birthday (Emma) today but who wrote it?  Mildred & Patty Hill of course!

8 Days a week

The Beatles were right.....the builder was wrong!

Dean, from Cosgrove Build and Design, said the bungalow would be gone in a week.

I'll give it to him though....they're not hanging about.

Walls come tumbling down

When the walls don't meet the floor...

...your house has a problem.
There's not much left, give it a bit of well(y)er.
The walls meet the floor now!

We've only just begun

We always said it was the right shape for a bulldozer!

She's no longer water tight! Tiles are stacked to be sold & the windows are gone...

Let's hope the badgers don't move in!
